“I Can’t Believe it is Concrete” – Stamped Concrete Floor

The fireplace on the porch is great but the real attention getter has been the stamped concrete on the Homearama show home.

The back porch floor on the Evans Coghill Homearama home looks like wood but it is not. It is actually stamped concrete. Many of  who have visited the show so far have been amazed at this. “This is great and beautiful.” “No more replacing boards and sealing the wood.” “I should have done this on my house”

The judges of the Homearama home, also, must have liked the concrete, too. They voted it “Most Innovative Feature” in the show this year.

Stamped concrete is created by a labor intensive process where a large rubber mat is pressed  into the concrete before it cures. A stain and accent color is added during the process to make it the correct color. The porch floor on our Homearama home was done by McGee Brothers.

Show and Ticket Info here. The show closes Sunday October 23, 2011.

It is amazing. It is actually stamped concrete that has the pattern of a real wood plank floor. It was voted "Most Innovative Feature" in Homearama Charlotte 2011.
